Kenyans residing in the above-mentioned regions were urged to be on the lookout for potential flooding that may lead to the destruction of property.

“Sunny intervals are expected across most parts of the country, with a significant reduction in rainfall likely across various regions,” Kenya Met announced.

"Occasional rainfall is also expected in multiple regions. Stay safe and prepared," the Meteorological Department urged Kenyans.

Meanwhile, In Nairobi, the weather was predicted to be sunny for most parts of the day with expected moderate rainfall.

Kenya Met's announcement comes a day after Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura noted that rain was expected to reduce in intensity in most parts of the country.

Mwaura in his announcement stated the government would immediately embark on the repair of infrastructure destroyed by floods.

The government spokesperson also noted schools destroyed by floods would be given priority during the repairs to help learners who are set to resume school next week.

Mwaura's remarks followed President William Ruto's directive on schools reopening where the Head of State announced schools would be reopening from May 13.
