Anthony Ndiema was appointed Head of Radio at Standard Media Group, days after Tom Japanni quit from the role.

Ndiema, who was currently the company’s head of Radio Maisha, will now take control of all the radio stations which include Spice FM, Vybez Radio, Radio Maisha and Beru FM.

“Radio is the background music of our lives. To new assignments,” Ndiema wrote on his X social media platform, accompanied by a collage of the four radio stations.

With a master’s degree from Daystar University and a vast range of experience from managing Hope FM, Ndiema will now work alongside other radio presenters to run the four radio stations.

Ndiema also doubles up as a Television presenter, where he creates, produces and presents Sunday Best, a gospel program on KTN and BTV every Sunday at 9:00 am.

In his hosting capacities, the renowned presenter also creates and produces the Safari, an early morning inspirational program on Radio Maisha every weekday from 4:00 am to 6:00 am.

Tom Japanni, announced his exit on Tuesday, February 20, after working with Standard Media Group for 11 years. According to his LinkedIn profile, he took up the role in February 2013.

Several personalities recently have left the media house, with some joining the new and upcoming competitor Radio 47.

They include; Billy Miya, Linda Oriaso, Hassan Kauleni, Emmanuel Mwashumbe, Fred Indimuli, and Beatrice Maganga.

The Standard Media Group has been the target of online malicious attacks, aimed at tainting their brand and credibility.

In an editorial memo released on April 4, the media house blamed the government, attributing the attacks to their attempt to expose ICT PS Edward Kisiangiani over the awarding of the MyGov newspaper tender to The Star Newspaper.

"To understand the genesis, we ask who benefits from this. It began soon after we called out ICT PS. We told Professor Kisiangani not to cut the hand that fed him. We were fighting for our rights," SG noted.
