Davido has confirmed that he is continuing with the lawsuit against media house, K24 for the April Fool’s prank that the media house pulled.

According to the artist, he had initially thought that he would not take any action against the media house but decided to proceed after receiving advice from his father.

Speaking in an interview with American content creators, Davido stated that he was warned of the repercussions that could affect his status and career going forward.

“I am taking legal action because it could just go the wrong way,” he emphasised.

He stated that he received a call from his father, after arriving in Nigeria alerting him of the situation.

“At first, I was not going to report and I would have let it go but my father urged me to do it because you can fly a plane into any country and they bring twenty police to search you,” stated Davido

Davido further stated that the culture in Africa and that in America was different and hence certain things could pass in America but have negative repercussions in Africa.

He reinforced the narrative stating that in his country, Nigeria, small things would be taken seriously and would translate into affecting his career.

Davido, however, applauded Kenya for the warm reception that he received as well as that in Uganda.

The prank in question had the media house erroneously state that detectives in Kenya had searched his private jet and found him in possession of cocaine.

However, through his lawyers, the artist had issued a demand letter to the media house demanding that they take down the controversial story.

The letter had also instructed the media house to compensate his legal team for the costs involved in pushing the case.
