Media personality Willis Raburu in his last message to colleagues at TV47 assured them that his departure did not indicate a purge from the company.

The journalist who was a marquee addition for the media house officially quit TV47 on Tuesday, April 30.

During his last day, staff working at the company were worried about whether this was an indication that the firm which has been on a hiring spree would be downsizing.

“Yesterday was hard enough looking at all your faces confused and perturbed, but here we are,” he spoke of the current atmosphere at TV47

“I will genuinely miss you all, we had started having an ebb, and a flow and working together has been an honour of my life.”

He assured his former workmates that no one should tell them they did not deserve to be in their current positions.

As TV47 seeks to assert its presence in the mainstream media, Raburu stated that he believed the current team had the capacity to grow and become the future which is being sought.

“If we can get back to bed and sleep at night having tried, then we have done what we can for that day,” his farewell message read in part.

While not announcing his next move, Raburu told his former colleagues that he hoped to see them around in the media industry.

Raburu’s stint at TV47 lasted only eight months and by the time of his resignation, he was Director of Digital Services and Innovation.

He quit barely two weeks after announcing that the Wabebe Experience show which he hosted was taking a seasonal break.

Raburu had tried to replicate the show at TV47 from Citizen TV with mixed success.
