Wetangula Spotted in Hong Kong Amidst Fake Gold Probe

Photos of Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula have emerged after he flew out of the Country on Sunday, amidst investigations of the gold scam.

On his Facebook page,  nominated senator Isaac Mwaura posted photos of him and Wetangula at the University of Hong Kong.

"We paid a courtesy call at the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong where Prof Yash Pal Ghai taught for 10 years," he stated.

Mwaura added that together with the Bungoma senator, they were representing the Senate ahead of the International Anti-Corruption Conference in China.

“He is out of the country on Senate business in Hong Kong,” Kenneth Lusaka, the Senate speaker disclosed on Sunday.

The photos have elicited lots of emotions from Kenyans who have seen them, with some surprised that the senator is attending an anti-corruption conference.

"That's a joke of the highest order how??" Papz Anto commented.

"How can a corrupt represent corruption? ??...waste of public resources," Mwas Kabz weighed in.

"This is an insult to Kenyans, look at the person representing us at the anti-corruption conference!" Vinniey Marigi questioned.

The senator has been adversely mentioned in a gold saga where the United Arab Emirates royal family lost millions.

The Director of Criminal Investigations boss George Kinoti has confirmed the senator's involvement in the Dubai gold scam.

He explained that his team was conducting investigations to establish whether the politician was a victim or an accomplice in the deal that has now gone sour.
