A Nyamira Express bus on Friday evening caught fire as it was travelling on the Wangari Mathaai Road overpass above Limuru Road
The bus, that was spotted by various drivers and other road users, spontaneously caught fire from the back while on the road with passengers aboard.
The firefighters, however, responded fast enough quenching the fire before it could cause any severe damages.
The terrified passengers were, however, evacuated safely, therefore, reporting no casualties in the mysterious ordeal.
The cause of the fire still remains unknown to most as investigations to determine the same are still underway.
This ordeal came just hours after another fire incident which occurred at Marula farm in Naivasha sub-county where a truck and a tanker burst into flames following a head-on collision.
One of the drivers of the heavy trucks was seriously injured but rescued in the nick of time, just before the fire broke out.
The accident occurred right after the driver of the truck decided to overtake a fleet of vehicles that resulted in a head-on collision with the oncoming tanker.
A few minutes after the crash, the tanker that was ferrying the diesel burst into flames. It’s by good luck that the firefighters arrived and managed to put out the fire and rescue the trapped driver as a witness recounted.
Netizens took to social media alerting relevant authorities concerning the Nyamira Express bus which resulted in a quick response by the fire department.
