Boniface Mwangi Completes His KCSE Exams, Congratulates Matiang'i

Controversial civil rights activist Boniface Mwangi has sent a congratulatory message to Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i for his strict supervision of the KCSE exams.

Mwangi, who was sitting for his KCSE exams this year, stated that as a candidate, he knew all too well the fantastic work the minister had done.

He further requested the CS to spread the reforms to the institutions of higher learning so that all students are allowed to pursue their life goals regardless of performance in the KCSE exam.

“Congrats to Fred Matiang’i, judging by the complaints from the students who wanted to cheat but could not, you have done a fantastic job. Now apply education reforms so that KCSE stops being a life and death exam. Make our curriculum relevant and current with the changing times.” Mwangi stated.

At the same time, Mwangi narrated some of the interesting instances he underwent while undertaking his exams.

He narrated one incident where a candidate was caught with a phone in his shoes, the official decided that all candidates should remove their shoes as part of the search before being allowed into the exam room.

The outspoken activist, however, expressed his support for the thorough search noting that only guilty people are interested in hiding their possessions.

“I thought of ways to which the scrutiny should apply to anyone occupying public office. Their business should be our business because they are handling our affairs. The thorough inspection is a good thing, it keeps people straight,” Mwangi concluded.
