Moses Kuria Shares Plan to 'Sentence' Raila on Tuesday

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Sunday shared a schedule indicating what will happen on Tuesday during the swearing-in of Opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.

In the schedule, the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders are expected to arrive at Uhuru Park and start the inauguration at 8:30 am.

The program indicates that the oath will be taken at 10:00 am after which the Opposition leaders will unveil their Cabinet Secretaries.

The schedule highlights that at 2:00 pm a trial will be conducted against the NASA leaders and a sentence issued an hour later.

At 4:00 pm there will be "death by hanging" followed by a "funeral service at Langa'ta" cemetery at 5:00 pm.

Meanwhile, the Opposition has vowed that the inauguration ceremony will proceed as scheduled even after the police declared Uhuru Park a no-go-zone.

Nairobi County police boss Japhet Koome on Sunday warned Kenyans, NASA and any other group against holding an event at Uhuru Park on Tuesday.

Speaking during a media briefing, Koome noted that Uhuru Park was a no-go-zone adding that no group will be allowed at the venue.

"I will not allow any grouping into Uhuru Park. Doing so would be opening up space for confrontations," he stated.

NASA CEO, Norman Magaya, however, dismissed the police warning stating that the ceremony was still on.

"Simple message to dictatorship and all its appendages, the swearing-in ceremony will proceed on 30.1.2018. The people will triumph," Magaya stated.

His sentiments were shared by NASA lawyer Edwin Sifuna who posted: "Japheth Koome will tell you when no formal notification for a gathering has been served. He will never acknowledge when one is served. Which is why we won't bother writing to him. Koome or no, 30th is on."
