The auctioneer handling the sale of properties belonging to former Kesses MP Swarup Mishra has revealed that the action has been taken due to a Ksh350 million debt.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.kethe auctioneer revealed that the MP had taken loans from various banks which he had not serviced.

While four properties were being auctioned at the time of publishing this article, the auctioneer revealed that the company was in the final stages of getting approval to auction 14 multibillion properties belonging to the politician.

“We believe the current properties on sale will bring in the initial Ksh350 million debt,” he told Kenyans.co.ke.

“One of the property is a 350-acre piece of land that houses a school and other amenities.”

The auctioneer revealed that in the near future, the company was seeking to auction the MP’s hospitals due to the ballooning debt.

Currently, the properties being auctioned are all in Uasin Gishu County with two properties located in Elgon View-Greenvale Area.

Others are located within Blossom Area, Kiambaa-Kesses Division and Ngeria Centre.

“All Interested bidders are requested to view the property and verify the details for themselves as these are not warranted by the Auctioneers or the principals,” the auctioneer instructed interested bidders.

Additionally, payment of refundable Ksh100,000 is mandatory to obtain bidding numbers.

Mishra was elected as MP for Kesses in 2017 but failed to defend the seat in 2022, losing to Julius Ruto.

The former MP revealed that he had lost the seat due to his failure to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) which swept the majority of seats in the area

“I very humbly request to my community to forgive me for the decision I took and was wrong at the end of the day,” Mishra stated a few days after losing the election.
