Sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have exposed a trick to traffic cocaine with one suspect having hidden contraband in the undergarments of a woman.

Through a statement issued by the DCI, five suspects were nabbed in a string of arrests which started by arresting one woman at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

It is reported that on Tuesday evening, the woman attempted to board a plane to Madagascar from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) where they detected the suspicious contraband in her privates.

“A body scanner at the checkpoint revealed suspicious items concealed around her privates, triggering a quick search that saw 600g of the highly addictive drug discovered. A spot test conducted on the discovery was positive for the coca product,” explained the DCI.

In an interesting twist, the DCI stated the woman led them to a syndicate of other four women who were involved in the trade.

According to the first suspect, she was introduced to the trade by a Ugandan national who lives in Kenya.

The arrest of the Ugandan suspect led to the DCI unearthing a syndicate that would lead to the arrest of 3 women moonlighting as businesswomen in the city.

According to the DCI, their search for the accomplices led them to a beauty shop along Accra Road in the CBD.

The three arrested were one Ugandan national and two 24-year-old Kenyan women who were in possession of 33 pellets of cocaine

“Presumptive test on the second recovery also tested positive for cocaine, weighing approximately 396 grams, stated DCI.

The detectives have also explained that they are in collaboration with International Police to nab the recipients of the drugs in Madagascar.

They have also urged Kenyans to report any incidence of drug trafficking and information related to the narcotics trade.
